To deliver on it’s mandate the Ministry is guided by the following priorities:

Youth Development

Promoting our youth by ensuring equitable participation, sustainable development and empowerment for all Zimbabwean citizens.

National Youth Service

Formulatation and implementation of youth service and volunteerism policies and strategies.

Vocational Training and Skills Development

Equipping youth with technical, vocational and entrepreneurial skills for employment creation and self-sustenance.

Youth Development Programs 

The goals of youth development programs is promote positive development, even when seeking to prevent problem behaviors. Youth development programs help youth navigate adolescence in healthy ways and pre- pare them for their future by fostering their positive development.

THE FIGHT IS ON: DRUG AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE IN ZIMBABWE

As the drug and substance abuse scourge continues to ravage the world at a worrying pace, Zimbabwe has not been spared. Drug and substance abuse has recently become widespread and a daring menace, resulting in many researches labeling it as a pandemic. In Zimbabwe, a huge number of people who abuse drugs and substances fall within the youth bracket of 15 to 35 years.

MINISTRY PROGRAMS CHANGE LIVES OF THE YOUTH

The objectives of the facility or program was very noble, to address poverty and unemployment and relevant to the challenges faced by the youth in Zimbabwe. It was however not able to reach the required impact in alleviating youth poverty. The lack thereof, of soft skills such as basic business stalls, marketing and booking keeping among others.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH YOUTH HUBS

The notion of Youth Business Hubs is a global trend seeking or focusing on factors such as education, entrepreneurship, social innovation and community duty which is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).The ministry established youth hubs around the country to prepare young people and the community to become self sustaining, productive and economically viable citizens. .
